Cave diving is a growing activity in the Asia Pacific rim. More and more caves are explored all over the region. It’s a safe activity, as long as people are properly trained and follow safe standard practices.

One of the major leading association worldwide, the National Association of Cave

Diving (NACD), was established in 1968 for the purpose of achieving closer

cooperation and understanding among members of the cave and recreational diving

communities (and the general public) so they may work together toward the common

goal of increasing safety in cavern and cave diving.

Cedric Verdier was recently appointed by the NACD as a Safety Officer for

South-East Asia. His duties are to answer all your questions regarding safety

and education, but also to work toward a better understanding of the cave

diving specific issues when it comes to authorities and governmental bodies.

Cedric is a veteran Cave Diving Instructor Trainer based in Thailand. He

recently explored some deep cave systems to an Asian Record of 200m/655ft.
